Throw away knives will generally be used on card when working with indentation and other cutting processes, these small knives allow detailed cuts to be made on the card in a very effective way.

Plaster

On plaster these knives can be used to remove any excess plaster that is around the edges, if the plaster hardens these knives can just be thrown away reducing the amount of effort filled cleaning needed afterwards.

Paper

A great way to remove wood chippings and add fine, detailed cuts into wood is to use a throw away knife. In most cases (especially in DIY), throw away knives are an exceptionally good tool to own and can have many more uses then just the above.
